Maisie Richardson-Sellers has made the rounds with TVLine, TV Fanatic and Access Hollywood. With more to come, I’m sure. We’ll post as they come in. Check out what she had to say about tonight’s episode and playing Rebekah.
Via TVLine:
TVLINE | And let’s talk about Rebekah and Marcel. You and Charles Michael Davis certainly don’t lack chemistry. What can we expect there?
For the first time ever, Rebekah’s more vulnerable than Marcel. She’s always been the all-powerful Original, but now she’s in serious mortal danger, so it’s going to be interesting to see how that changes the dynamic between the two of them. He’s determined to figure out what’s going on, so they’ll be sending some time together. We’ll see what that means for the rest of their relationship as it continues.
Via TV Fanatic:
TVF: How did you react when you learned about Eva Sinclair’s murderous past?
MRS: I was shocked, but also very excited. As an actor, it’s an amazing opportunity to be able to play two characters at once, but also it’s scary for Rebekah. She’s in a very vulnerable position now, and also for everyone else, we’ve never seen this happen before. This is new territory for everyone whereby the host body’s waking up. It’s just, like, how is everyone going to deal with that? How is Rebekah going to deal with that? To what extent is Rebekah going to be lost within this body? Is she even conscious when Eva’s taking over? All these different things.
Via Access Hollywood:
Access: Can you talk a little bit about your character’s mental status at this point in time?
Maisie: So at the moment, Rebekah’s having these weird visions. She starts to have these visions and she starts to realize that Eva, whose body she’s in, is basically waking up and trying to take control again. So she’s in a very volatile position. I’d say it’s the first time ever she’s been in a mortal body, so not only is she dealing with this sort of double soul inside her, but she’s also in a body, which is extremely fragile. So at the moment, she’s pretty terrified and vulnerable. I think it’s quite interesting also with Marcel, because it’s the first time that she’s been the less powerful one, so that’s going to change their relationship a bit, and she’s just – she’s very lost at the moment, I would say.
