Alloy Entertainment had a chance to chat with the resident human, Leah Pipes. Check out what Leah said about Esther’s interest in Cami.
Alloy Entertainment: As for another creepy individual? Mama Mikaelson! After all, she’s the one who set Finn loose on your character. What can you tease about Cami’s upcoming struggle with Esther? And why is the almighty matriarch so obsessed with a normal human bartender?
Leah Pipes: I think there’s something about Cami. She’s one of those special people where she’s been forced to deal with a lot of grief and heartache but yet remains so strong and resilient. And [the Mikaelson] family has come in contact with many, many humans throughout their 1000 year existence. So, when they meet a special human who’s able to hold her own — who doesn’t cower in their presence nor comply with their demands, their interest is piqued.
Alloy Entertainment: That makes sense. The thing about Cami is that she makes people feel as though they’re the only ones in the room. She’s very attentive and a great listener. The Mikaelsons just want someone to listen to their stories without passing judgement, and she’s able to provide them with that.
Leah Pipes: And in a lot of ways Cami is selfless. A prevalent human trait is to worry about one’s own needs and to be very selfish, and Cami seems to be the opposite of that.
