New interviews have popped up today from The Originals EP, Michael Narducci and the cast! Thanks to @Originals4ever for the heads up!

Michael Narducci Interview via TVLine:

WILL THERE BE ROMANCE BETWEEN SOPHIE AND ELIJAH?  | “[Sophie] has to hold Hayley and the unborn child hostage to try to manipulate the Original vampires,” explains Narducci. “Elijah sees this and does not like being manipulated. And yet, you have to respect someone with the bravery to try to manipulate the Original vampires… There will be romance for Sophie, and there will be romance for Elijah… We’ve got some cool twists coming up.”

Daniel Gillies Interview via Sugarscape:

What can fans expect from the first season of The Originals?

The first season is a little like a war. In a sense, this mystical show is all about survival and we’re heading to New Orleans to reclaim our former kingdom. That’s going to require a lot of strategy, as well as a clever usurping of the power from Marcel.

Daniel Gillies Interview Wall Street Journal Speakeasy:

For those who tuned into the back door pilot, Klaus is continuing the bloodline as Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) is pregnant. Your wife, Rachel Leigh Cook is pregnant with your first child as well. Do all of these coming babies soften you, or Elijah, up? [Note: Since this interview, Cook had a baby girl.]

I just can’t wait to meet this little person. More than anything, I’m just excited. For Elijah, it’s about family as always. This person is a continuation of his family, which means he is going to protect it with the code of honor that to him, it’s family above everything. He is turbulent in the name of family. I think he had an adoration of humanity, he looks at it with a quasi-sort of enchantment. With Elena, [Nina Dobrevin “The Vampire Diaries”] he adores seeing finite lives and people respecting them, even in the century he’s been alive that hasn’t changed. And fans may see in “The Originals,” we might delve into the depths of how criminally brutal Elijah can be to re-unify his family, should it come to that.
