Interview Roundup with Leah Pipes: She Talks Potential Love Triangle and More!

A Closer Walk with Thee

Leah Pipes is making the news outlet rounds today. We have interviews from TV Guide, EW and more! We will post more as they come in. Check out what Leah has to say about tonight’s episode and what’s to come!

Via TV Guide:

After her uncle Kieran (Todd Stashwick) was hit with a deadly curse, Cami (Leah Pipes) — one of the only humans on the show — believed she got a witch to reverse the spell. But after Klaus (Joseph Morgan) went and screwed that up, Cami will be forced to do anything she can to keep Kieran from dying.

“She’s pretty desperate at this point so she’s taking some drastic measures — you see her at her wit’s end,” Pipes tells TVGuide.com. “It’s been a very emotional arc. But I think she has this wonderful ability of refusing to hit rock bottom. Her family life has been through many trials and tribulations, and the fact that she doesn’t give up and continues to fight on makes her really interesting. She’s not allowing herself to wallow in her own despair, and instead she’s trying to solve the problem.”

Via EW:

Klaus, Cami, and Marcel are forming a love triangle (of sorts): “I think love triangle is just too simple. It’s a simple little triangle, it makes sense. But this is a complicated, like, swirly line. Where is it going? What does it mean? Is it romantic? Probably not. But why am I feeling this way? Jealousy! Anger! It’s like when your really close guy friend gets a girlfriend and you’re happy for him, but for some reason, you’re jealous of her and you don’t really know why. It’s a complicated thing. And I think Cami got a little feisty with Genevieve when she figured that out too, so it’s a really complex relationship. And I think her relationship with Marcel is very complex too because they hooked up but she said this is never happening again and that obviously makes things complicated.”

Via Collider:

Do you think Cami is better off seeking an ally in Marcel or in Klaus?

PIPES:  I don’t think it’s safe to make either one an ally.  I really don’t think it’s advantageous enough to seek an ally in either one of them.  She genuinely cares for both of them.  Because of that, they both have laid down their swords when it comes to Cami.  She isn’t trying to better herself by caring for them.  She just genuinely cares for them, and genuinely cares for a lot of people.  It was the same way with Davina.  Davina said, “Do you want something from me?  Is that why you’re here?”  And Cami said, “Okay, I do want something from you.  I thought you could help with my uncle’s hex.  But, that isn’t why I’m here.  I’m here because I genuinely care for you.”  And I think that’s the relationship that she has with the two boys, too.

Do you think that’s why they’re both drawn to her so much?

PIPES:  Yeah.  She gives them hope in themselves, to see someone care for them in such a way and to see good in them.  She makes them a better vampire.

Via Just Jared Jr:

JustJaredJr: Hi Leah! So Klaus seemed pretty jealous when he found out about Cami and Marcel’s relationship. They also had that amazing scene at the end when he apologized to her about not being able to save her uncle. What does Cami make of Klaus’ feelings toward her?

Leah Pipes: I think she sees a lot of good in him and I think she’s aware that he shows that vulnerable side of himself to her. He doesn’t show that to most people and maybe no one else. But I think she’s aware that he doesn’t’ care for people in the conventional way or even a healthy way. She’s aware of how damaged he is, but that doesn’t stop her from wanting to see him do better, and feel, and grow, and be happy.

JJJ: He’s obviously lied to her in the past, but they have a very interesting relationship. Does she trust him 100 percent at this point?

LP: I actually think she is trusting him more and more because he shows her so much of himself. How can you not feel like you know this person well enough to trust them? Even if they’re being dubious, you know them very well. You can trust that they won’t be dubious toward you. So I think that’s their relationship as of now. But obviously, she doesn’t think that Klaus is this well-trained puppy who’s going to be sweet and loving all the time. She knows better than to think that’s what he is.
