Joseph Morgan Interviews via TV Guide, THR & More

Tangled up in Blue

Check out these interviews with Joseph Morgan from TV Guide and THR. We may have more to come, so stay tuned!

Via TV Guide:

“That scene with little Marcel was one of my favorite flashbacks we’ve ever done,” Morgan tells TVGuide.com “The feel of the scene set it up so well [with] their history of being beaten down and both having fathers that really wanted nothing to do with them. This is a boy he treated as a son and a young man he respected and took under his wing. So, it’s going to be tough for Klaus because there’s always going to be a conflict there. There’s also pride for Klaus [in] seeing that Marcel has come so far. So, he’ll never just want to take him down and kill him. There’s going to be complexity there.”

Via THR:

Klaus said in the last episode that he always has a plan, so how does he go about getting his brother back?

In episode three you’re going to really see Klaus put a plan into effect. The whole episode we’re going to see the mechanics of that being put together. We’re also going to learn a bit more history about Marcel’s relationship with his Nightwalkers, a little information about his one of them in particular. We’re going to learn a bit more history about how he became a Nightwalker, how he teamed up with Marcel and what kind of loyalty their relationship has.

Rest assured Elijah fans, the well-coiffed Original will be waking up soon enough and will soon give Klaus some competition, but not in the way you might expect. “He’s not too happy about what Klaus did and he is very much in favor of the idea of the child and the family,” Morgan previews, “Perhaps more so than Klaus initially, and more protective of the baby than Klaus, and so there’s a little conflict there now. I think Klaus starts to feel a little usurped.” Uh-oh, we all know what happens when Klaus feels threatened!

Via EW:

Klaus and Hayley had such a nice moment of bonding in episode 2, but she also stole his daggers, so what can we expect with their relationship? Are they heading toward love or hate or what?

First of all, I agree they had a connection and a moment of bonding over their similar feelings about their past or their lack of parental attention. I don’t think it was a romantic moment really. I don’t feel like it was as if that was the start of them falling in love or something. She feels a little bit more like part of the family now. Klaus is most certainly protective over her, or at least protective over the child she carries, which by default is her. So we can expect the family to take her under their wing certainly, look out for her a little more, protect her. I think more of that, although I’m not sure how well she’ll do once the baby is out of her. I’m not sure how much he’ll care at that point. I’m not sure how much she’s just an incubator at the moment. I’ll be interested to see where it goes, but certainly for now she’s safe and she’s under the protection of all the Mikaelsons.
