The Originals Cast Interviews including Michael Trevino on Tyler’s Appearance Tonight

Always and Forever

We have several interviews to share with you guys from E!Online, TV Fanatic, TV Guide and Zap2It. We’ll add more as we get them. First check out what Daniel Gillies, Phoebe Tonkin and Joseph Morgan have to say about a potential Hayley & Elijah romance.

Via E!Online:

Gillies admits it’s “weird” that Elijah would want to pursue any kind of romantic relationship with Hayley, asking, “Could it be any more complicated and more of a minefield?”

But he teases that we will definitely see more of the relationship: “It seems like the more that they try and resist it, the more that it snowballs. It will be interesting to see where that develops to, because I sense him—at the moment in the scripts—pulling away really hard, which can signify one of two things: one, that he’s either really going to jump in with both feet or he’s gonna wrench himself away from it. I don’t know, but they are definitely magnetically drawn to one another.”

Down the Rabbit Hole

Michael Trevino talks with Zap2It, TV Guide and TV Fanatic about tonight’s TVD/The Originals Crossover.

Via TV Fanatic:

Yes, TV Fanatics, the rumor has now been confirmed: Michael Trevino will show up this Tuesday on The Originals.

What can we expect from Tyler’s “second act of revenge” against his hybrid nemesis, as Trevino described to TV Fanatic yesterday on The Vampire Diaries set?

Might this actually be a suicide mission?!?

And what about Forwood? Is that a done deal for sure?

Via TV Guide:

Last time that Tyler had a plan, Klaus caught wind of it first. Will this one be more shocking?

Michael Trevino: Most definitely Klaus is shocked; this time it’s more of a sneak attack. Last time, his plan involved a pack of hybrids as he was trying to build this army and be more of the aggressor. Here the tactics are more psychological because he’s coming with a little bit of information and background on Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin), something we don’t know about her yet … and it’s going to affect a lot of people.

So what’s Tyler’s first move against Klaus? According to Trevino, he’ll use the information he’s been collecting to make a smart, calculated play against the Original. “We will find out that he’s been, like you could imagine, roaming around with different wolf packs all around the mountains and that’s how he’s been gathering his information,” Trevino says. “With that, he comes fully loaded with information not only to give to Hayley but to backstab Klaus — not in a physical way, but just in a threatening way with what he can do to Klaus. It’s not really like a physical fight, it’s more, ‘I can do this to that person, and this to so-and-so,’ and it won’t be good for Klaus.” So there was a deeper purpose to Tyler’s adventures in the Appalachian Mountains, but Trevino says we won’t get to see what he was up to in flashbacks.

Season 1 Tyler wasn’t the brightest bulb. Has he learned from his mistakes? How worried should I be about Tyler on this venture?

It’s going to be okay. I have more fun playing him as a villain and not always mixed up in this love triangle with Caroline. And here it’s fun. It’s just the first time you’re going to see him being very aggressive. He does fight with Klaus, and he’s coming with a lot of information. Every other time he’s gone after Klaus with a plan it’s been about this epic battle, and like you said earlier, that’s not very smart. You don’t go pick fights with Klaus. This is more kind of on a psychological level, because he’s setting things in motion. He has so much information on Hayley that’s going to come to light that makes her and that baby even more important than they already are.

We know he could come face-to-face with other Originals,  so does this information then indirectly affect Elijah and Rebekah as well?

Absolutely, because no matter all their differences in that Mikaelson family, it’s still family. We know that Elijah and Hayley are close, and so I don’t think he’s going to be fine with it at all. And so yes, Tyler being in town affects everybody.

Prepare for an epic showdown over two TV seasons and two shows in the making between Klaus and Tyler in tonight’s episode. (Can we get a hell yes up in this article?!)

“t’s aggressive. It’s what you think it would be, two guys who are kind of alpha males who don’t like one another and just want to go after each other and rip each other’s heads off,” Trevino teases. “That might be a play on words, maybe that does kind of happen, maybe they try and do that! It goes as you would expect it to.”

But Tyler has switched up his tactics, deciding to go for a more “psychological” attack as he comes to New Orleans armed with “a lot more information,” Trevino explains.

How does Caroline factor into the equation with Tyler and Klaus?

She’s just a part of both of their pasts, but Klaus is very witty and smart and he knows what to say to tick off Tyler and usually it has something to do with Caroline so that’s really it. We definitely know that Klaus has always had a thing for Caroline and I think he still does.

There is also the mystery of the werewolf who’s been protecting Hayley. What’s the likelihood that that will be addressed or answered?

It will be addressed. Many people think that it’s Tyler — and I won’t say yes or no — but it is brought up.
